CADETS AGAINST CROWDSURFERS!!!
The Aquabats are currently en route for their 20th Anniversary Tour!! 20 years!! That’s older than a lot of their fans!!
And recently at their shows, there has been a much higher attendence by younger children; which makes sense, the band has opened their audience up for the kids since the launch of the Super Show. Awesome! New fans! Everyone can appreciate and enjoy the concerts together from all walks of life!!
HOWEVER, as many people have noticed, older fans have been getting very reckless at the shows to the point of mindless violence…. oh no!! Putting the kids in danger?? THAT’S NOT WHAT A CADET DOES!!
YOUR MISSION, CADET: NO TOLERANCE FOR VIOLENCE!!
Everyone wants to have a good time at a concert. Heck, that’s why you go!! But remember, that the younger kids cannot defend themselves against taller, heavier, violent older fans who tend to lose themselves in the music the same way other fans can. You need to adjust and behave appropriately!!
Nothing wrong with enjoying yourself; BUT KEEP IT TAME AROUND THE YOUNG FANS!! Those kids idolize the band, they love the music as much as you do, and many of them are there for their first time (maybe just like you!) Put yourself in their shoes; would you return to see a band live if you could be kicked, hit, or hurt by someone much bigger than you? Protect young cadets!
If you see violence during the show, try to direct it away from the kids!! NO MOSHING, NO CROWDSURFING, NO EXCEPTIONS!! Kids cannot support a 200 lb hardcore fan who is not in control of themselves. If you know or are going with someone who plans on being reckless/drunk for the night, remind them before who else will be attending the show, and how they need to behave!! If someone starts crowdsurfing…. steal their shoes!!
Worried you might be “that guy?” Try to limit alcohol intake before and during the show. Also, you can move towards the back of the crowd if you wanna lose yourself to the music. Many of the children hang out towards the front of the crowd to see the band!! If you are standing near a kid, AVOID THEM! If you are standing near a parent with a kid on their shoulders, AVOID THEM! (parents cannot take an impact from you while trying to protect/support their kid)
We cadets want everyone to enjoy the night they see their stars on the stage, and we want to provide a safe, enjoyable venue for everyone of all ages!! The Aquabats are not the same band they were 20 years ago, 15 years ago, 10 years ago! Their demographic has changed, the people who attend shows has changed, and it is your job to prevent ALL reckless violence around children during the shows!!
A GOOD CADET DOES IT FOR THE KIDS. ENDING RECKLESS VIOLENCE STARTS WITH YOU. ARE YOU A CADET AGAINST CROWDSURFERS?
